I went to watch Van Morrison couple of nights ago (absolutely sh11e if you must know)- but it was 1000 (or near as dammit) in a 3,000 capacity London venue.

Indoor- bars open and masks worn throughout.

If that can happen why can’t semi pro football at Town 🤷🏽‍♂️

I think the reason clubs won’t want that responsibility is because it isn’t their responsibility.
Coming into and out of the ground is something the club can control, once fans are off site the clubs responsibility ends. You can’t monitor bus queues, public transport etc. Same as with people going to supermarkets etc

And what about everyone turning out of pubs clubs and restaurants at 10pm every night now all milling about on the street wanting buses and taxis home or wherever asap

How is that controlled by social distancing lol

Not sure I agree, traditionally we get a bumper gate on boxing day when there is no public transport

Back in the day and I mean back lol the Whittington route used to have extra buses waiting in new square and when a bus was full an inspector would wave it off and summon another one to fill it up and send it off

that was when we used to get decent crowds at Saltergate up to around 16/17000 lol

Boxing Day then used to be a sunday service

You can only watch Vanarama if you are a Spireite living in Chesterfield!

As I said on the other thread, I would think setting up the financial/payment/subscription side of things and linking it securely to whatever platform we use to stream the event would take the most effort.

Let’s face it our CEO was gob smacked about something many people on here were talking about for weeks and weeks. Add the fact, as far as I can see no decision has been made by the NL about whether the season is actually starting one week tomorrow.

Hardly surprising if we aren’t ready to stream and take in revenue

Wor I want to know is how CFC is represented by the urine poor NL Board of Directors, with it's urine poor statement yesterday that it's one and only plan is to ask for cash from this urine poor government and hope for the best.

It's presumably one of these Directors who said the NL wouldn't start without fans, summat CFC didn't want to hear and certainly didn't expect.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

I have a veo camera and would happily set it up to record the game, wouldnt be live but could be watched back in full the next day. Not the best solution but better than not seeing anything
The problem across all leagues, and all sports, with all this get fans back misses the one vital point of how supporters actually safely get there and back. Once in the ground I'm sure social distancing is adequate, even at pie and beer time, but that is not enough - it's the safe transport of getting supporters, in and out, be it 3000 or 30000, or any number in between travelling to and from - public transport, especially at final whistle, would that support train/coach loads of supporters, car travel with mates, will everyone mask up, are you leaving a mate behind if they don't have a mask etc. We've all seen people scrumming to get onto buses around the ground, at the end of game, all been on trains with supporters going to and from other games, let alone town ones, and until a satisfactory solution comes up for that it ain't going to proceed very quickly. Even with 1000 attending, are you staggering time to arrive or leave, who's controlling numbers onto buses, and how do you identify someone who's last bus is at say 5.30pm compared to someone on a regular route - everyone wants to get on way home, or back to their local asap.
Put forward ideas of control for the dispersion of fans after the final whistle and you may stand a chance- but clubs won't want that responsibility, and in the meantime everyone will go on about financial implications and want supporters back asap.

Seeing as how the Govt reckon masks work that shouldn’t be a problem if everyone sticks one of the things on as they enter and leave. However as they wear them everywhere even outdoors in Spain and yet they still have a problem I’m yet to be convinced of their worth.

Every match day would be like an episode of The Likely Lads. Apologies to our younger viewers for that reference but the old codgers will know what I mean.

Early on in the fight against this dreadful virus the experts, scientists, and doctors etc were telling us why we didn't need masks. Now they've changed their minds but as you say their effectiveness has yet to be proved.

That was because they didn't wanted the British public, who had already stripped the shelves of every available packet of pasta and loo roll, diverting masks away from the NHS.

One of the biggest problems with effectiveness is poor usage and excess handling. About time we had some public information stuff running regularly on how to wear them, why not to store them under your chin when it isn't on your face, and a reminder to dispose of them considerately. Also need to remind folk that wearing one doesn't mean they make you invincible, and to still keep your hands clean and not stand right next to folk you don't live with.

No, Dave. There's been an ongoing debate about the pros and cons of masks - the problem of folk touching/re-using them balanced against the prevention of droplets - but it was a government that knew we simply hadn't the stocks who said they weren't needed.
