Sorry but some of those people are from Yorkshire, have nothing really to do with Chesterfield or North Derbys
eg James Newman, 63, is a Yorkshireman born and bred with a varied career spanning more than 35 years.

Senior roles with a large number of different industries including manufacturing, services and utilities made him an ideal choice as first chairman of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership Board, established in November 2010 and one of the largest in the UK.

He is also chairman of two public companies, senior non-executive director of two more, chairman of Finance Yorkshire, a former Master Cutler, and until his recent retirement from the role, deputy chairman of the board of governors at Sheffield Hallam University

No Dennis Skinner?

No 45 David Tate was in the year below me at school. He always used to get his bag thrown off the bus at least 2 stops before he did. All I can say to his tormentors is "who's laughing now eh?"

And everything he has achieved has been financed by his dad Norman but can't see his name on the list. A lot of the list are the DT cronies either through advertising or you scratch my back brigade. What have have most done for the community?. In my eyes, most have just lined their own pockets.

It all depends how you perceive the word "powerful"

I honestly don't see any powerful people on that list having read the short bio's. I have many a debate with Toby Perkins but I would never describe him as powerful.

It's as bad as the AV Awards..

You've got it, those that attend the awards evenings & networking mornings.

That's a simply bizarre list. There's some very rich & genuinely influential people who aren't on there and a few that must have paid to get on it.
