Crafty Dog is nice and they haven't made it 'too' posh and non pub like - not sure that having 30 different beers is sustainable though

I don't get the hype around Junction, over priced, bad beer and packed with 'look at me' ten bob millionaires - same goes for Nonnas and Maison Mes Amis - no way I'm drinking at any of them

for Sport The Barrel is by far the best - 15 TVs and can show 4 different things at once

Grouse is also ok for sport (beer wasn't great last time I was in though) - Brit is a decent enough pub but the layout inside make it extremely poor for watching football or anything else on the telly

Rose and Crown, Tap House and Tramway are all good if you like real ale and The Star, Victoria and Peacock are all decent - The Anchor has a decent selection of beers and The Alma is ok

So there's plenty of choice, depends what you want

The Barrel isn't dirty as far as I'm aware. Toilets could do with a spruce up maybe but I can do without two kinds of hand lotion and a Dyson Blade when I'm watching the football with a Stella.

Your right, it isn’t. Nor are the other pubs the fella named.

Ok, I am the lady of the household, but I quite like Junction (though tend to have gin in there), that said, not the sort of place I'll cross the threshold without getting dressed up a bit. The one time hubby and I just nicked in there for a quick drink I felt scruffy and out of place.

Nonna's, never tried it, walked past many a time without much of a thought. Looks like I'll have a choice of Peroni or Birra Morreti, can't be bothered to find out.

Mes Amis, the idea of drinking, or eating, there leaves me cold. I've been in many a time but never as a customer (long story), the 'trying too hard' image puts me off, it comes across as the sort of place full of the look at me brigade binge-drinking bottles of decent red and being loud crashing bores every weekend. I've done proper posh, it is a lot more understated and the ten bob millionaires can't afford to get drunk enough to ruin other people's evening.

I like the Tramway and Rose and Crown, Vic and Brit are OK, Real Ale Corner is somewhere I prefer to pay for bottles and leave, you have to be female to understand why...

Looking forward to giving the Crafty Dog a go, and can't comment on most of the others as I either haven't been in at all, or it was so long ago things may have changed drastically.

Peacock Landlord has moved to the Tramway in last couple of weeks. His name is Tim, he keeps his beer really well - and is a big Town fan - a real bonus then!

Brit is probly the best pub, good beer and plenty of tvs to watch football ect.

Junction in my opionion is the best bar, good atmosphere, and really nice. Dont have tvs so will keep the football crowd out who wre wanting to watch the match.

Then the vic, peacock, rose, tap house, crafty dog are worth a go.

Id stay out of the barrel, anchor and grouse tho. Horrible dirty places.

before labeling places horrible and dirty it may be an idea to look at the hygiene ratings of each of them.....

Britannia 3 Stars
Taphouse, Alma and Anchor 4 Stars
Every other pub on Brampton (including The Grouse and The Barrel) 5 Stars
Crafty Dog not rated yet

If “human consumption” includes watching football, the Proact can expect one star next time it’s rated.

I end up in Anchor once or twice a month and there's no way that place should have 4 stars for hygiene bearing in mind the toilets.

In fact what is it with toilets in town being garbage. Half of them don't have locks on the cubicle doors and haven't for ages.

Not exactly on topic but regards to watching tomorrow’s game, I’m an exile considering paying for a one day Sky Pass to watch from the comfort of my own living room - has anyone done this and if so can they vouch that it works and the quality is good? Thanks
