No way would I go to watch the World Cup in Russia, and I spent years there and know the customs and language. In 2016 in France there were trained bands of hooligans targeting English people, and I don't doubt that someone in Russia was organising them as they saw it as somehow glorifying the motherland. I think something similar will happen in summer and would not want to be near any of the designated fan trains, especially.
In 2016 a good (and now former) friend of mine (not a nutter) started posting photos of those hoolies in France with captured English flags, and when I took him up on it, he claimed that they had only fought English hooligans and everyone had wanted to fight and had a jolly good time doing so. England is seen as the home of hooliganism, which has been glorified by films like Green Street, and to Russian hooligans the English fans are the top target. Recent political events won't have made things any better.

Qatar, I won't watch a single minute of that World Cup as it is built on the blood of slave labour.

Might have been tempted last year but with tensions ramping up I'd definitely say no.

I think the government needs to bite the bullet and either recommend people not to go or just pressure the FA into pulling out.

The awarding of the Competitions to those two countries really is the low point, and there's been some, of FIFAs history. It should forever go down as Blatters legacy. Despicable decision that was all about lining a few pockets rather than the greater good of the game.

Anyone who is going to Russia will be taking a huge risk. I would say there isnt any doubt there will be trouble not just for the English but other nations as well. Russian hooligans are reportedly trained like soldiers.

They'll be no match for a load of fat lads from Barnsley in I'll-fitting nylon shirts

Anyone making Putin & his World Cup look bad, probably won't be around long. Therefore I expect Russian hooligans to be well shackled on their own soil.

Can't remember who it was who laughed me off the board for making the same claim in 2016...

They certainly are and it's on their turf; one would have to be crackers to go! That said, and with the risk of being called a moron; I've not heard what firms are going but if they can muster 500 top lads, I think they'll hold their own.

As for winning it lol genuinely laughed at that. We haven't a prayer, and haven't moved on in any way whatsoever since the Iceland debacle.

Now that I have opened my brown envelope I am willing to make a comment on this

" I think it was good idea by FIFA to award the world cups to Russia and QATAR as it will be good culturally for football"

My guess is that small groups will try and infiltrate England fans to cause some trouble to give the Russian police an excuse to go heavy handed into the fans and blame English hooligans.
