To be fair, note the group sponsorship was of £440k all comes from the owner’s business. Even then the profits of £556k in 2017 don’t cover off the two years previous losses of £232k (after owners sponsorship of £300k) and £370k.

However you can’t argue they are a darn sight more efficient than we are. But still bankrolled.

Would we rather be in our shoes or Grimsbys right now, you know what, I’m not entirely sure.

On the face of it Grimsby are in a far better position. We need 2 wins from 3 to catch em. They have to carry on losing if that's possible by law of averages !

What have averages got to do with it? It’s form, and Grimsby have gone 18 games without a win. Only seven more to go for them in the same vein. Hopefully.

Grimsby are well and truly holding the door open for us to escape.

Having watched bits of the Luton v Barnet game yesterday, I'd suggest Barnet are as good as down.

Am I right in thinking that Vale haven't won this calendar year? If that's correct, they look like they're doing their best to make a nervy end to the season aswell.

Vale haven’t won since 30 Dec. That’s 14 games. They have drawn 8 of those, and, another way of looking at it, they have lost only once in the last six games. Apparently played well at Wycombe yesterday.

Being unable to win can’t be doing much for their psyche though.

To be fair to them though the draws will probably keep them in the division, something we've been sadly short of, an extra draw here and there is like gold dust in our position, anything other than defeat v us next Friday would more than likely see them safe.

Off at a slight angle, Sheridan is doing a fantastic job at Fleetwood. 3 draws 2 wins in their last 5 matches.

His dismissal at CFC is the root cause of the boardroom bust up which led to Allen declaring unilateral rule. The ex-directors wanted Sheridan out and they got their way but lost all influence afterwards. I think Allen went along with it in order to at least give the impression that he believed in his Board, chose Paul Cooke on individual gut feel, and then decided to run the shop himself.
