I'm actually a massive of the first series of Blackadder, which whilst being the most expensive to produce is regarded as the worst of the lot. Personally I thought Blackadder 3, with the prince regent, was the worst!

Nothing will ever beat OFAH. Hands down the best programme i ever watched, forget all this towie nonsense all my generation seem to be obsessed with.

It's a bit harsh to say Only Fools isn't in the same league imo. I am a fan of all three and would say that Flowery Tw@£s is third on my list.
Three different angles and styles of comedy, all written by geniuses and acted out by the very, very best.

Why play him at RB when he us probably the best centre half on the books?

It wasn't referring to Armands skills, more our need of a RB...

For certain members of this board wouldn't " 'Til Death us do Part" be first choice

When I look at the stuff our generation watches I sort of realise why the majority of us are so stupid and ignorant. Never quite got round to properly watching Only Fools, but Fawlty Towers is an absolute masterpiece and so funny no matter how much you watch it. John Cleese absolutely smashes it out of the ball park.

Do people actually watch that? I suppose some must, or it wouldn't be made, but I've never met anyone who admits to watching it(I am nearly 40, though). I just can't imagine, at any point during my youth in Chesterfield, that the culture would have even permitted anyone to openly discuss shows like that (rightly or wrongly!).

Some of the early stuff is fantastic and up there with the best ever, but sadly I thought it lost its way later on.
Fawlty Towers, with only 12 episodes, was a classic every episode!

I'm not sure the real reason why only 12 episodes, I know the split between JC and CB didn't affect it because they broke up after series one. I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree on this one, yes OFAH is up there with the best ever, but IMHO Fawlty Towers is peerless.

Tough to beat Porridge. Ronnie Barker was a genius in it. You know it's good when you never tire of watching it over and over again.

Yes Porridge beats OFAH for the writing and acting as well. I once saw Ronnie Barker say that Porridge was the funniest thing he'd ever done, but he had the most fun making OAH! He said every day, after filming, the cast and crew would all go to the pub and Lynda Baron would drink them all under the table!

Yes, OAH is another classic. The writing is brilliant, but his acting takes these shows to the next level. She looks like she can hold her ale to be fair!

Going straight was disappointing considering how good porridge was, which was to be expected, but Barker still made it great viewing.
