From what I can see, the scenario is thus.
Our budget is higher than last season, yes?
Well if, come Christmas we're either in or in danger of dropping into the relegation zone, with a playing budget like ours, that is a failure. No ifs, nay buts.
The book stops with the manager, a chap who was appointed without an interview process and with a questionable track record at best.
I wasn't thrilled at his appointment but swallowed hard and gave him my backing. The football has been dire in the most part but even that I can stomach if we're holding our own.
If we're not, Dean Saunders deserves no special allowances.
I'm not a kneejerk reaction kinda town fan, but neither do I believe in fairies. When a manager fails, he gets the boot and I dont see why DS should be any different.
Prove. Me. Wrong, Dean. If you can't, be gone with you.

DA has clearly said this week that he likes Saunders, so the chance of him being sacked is zero. He is quite happy to let him take us into division 2 probably because in his eyes it's cheaper there
and can pay less wages. However, if he thinks the fan base will still be here he is sadly mistaken, because I for one won't be paying three hundred odd quid to watch that.

Picking those 'four worse teams' has gone from being quite easy to very difficult in recent times.
Crewe won last night didn't they? Fleetwood too. Swindon also? I don't think I'll be looking at the table any time soon.

I mentioned on Twitter to an avid town fan that he was better off at the Bellowhead gig than at the football last night. At this rate, he would even have been better off at a Little Mix concert.

I think you are saying that if we are in the relegation zone, or in danger of dropping into it, by xmas, then DS has failed and should get the boot.
You would have to be away with the fairies to imagine DA giving DS a bullet by the new year.
But it raises an interesting question as to how bad things would need to get before DA pulled the trigger - in particular would it even happen if we were relegated? Thoughts?
As for current matters, we have lost 3 games on the bounce where we might have expected to pick up at least 4 points.
Up to the new year we have Swindon at home, Bury away, Bradford at home, Peterborough away and Coventry at home.
Looking at those fixtures it makes Swindon a must win game.
We might do well out of those tough fixtures, nobody knows, but I doubt anyone will expect it. If we lost on Saturday we would already be in danger of dropping into the relegation zone and that's the easiest fixture on paper out of the next 5. Worrying times.

I know DS has had to rebuild a broken team, but it was his choice of signings and his choice of the style of play we adopt, he has had a decent budget so the blame lies with him.
The only hope we have IF we keep losing is that Dean will do the decent thing and resign. I wonder what the chances of that are though.
I just wish there was something practical we could do to show DA our strength of feeling instead of just being keyboard moaners.

He didn't sack Sheridan after 18 ( or whatever it was) games without a win, I can't see Saunders being sacked any time soon, I'd even reckon he'd still be here if we went down

If DS expects to keep his job despite relegation I can't see him resigning.

We have just had the agm, the perfect opportunity to voice discontent directly to DA. I reckon the discontent expressed on here is representative-ish of the fanbase so why did nobody say owt??. If I understand it correctly the only note of discord surrounded the sale of Doyle.

Because they've got no cojones!?
All you get is abuse when you point out the obvious. Saunders is a lousy manager. He has spent the money fans work hard to earn on garbage. CT is a halfwit. DA ( the genius businessman) , at best, has delegated responsibility to the wrong people
SEB is a big time charlie who only spent a few weeks in the big time. Novak a cast off. Wood useless. Herd runs around like a blue-bothered fly. O'Neil.. exactly!
As long as you all keep turning up regardless, why would anyone change anything?
DA says it's a business. Fine. I'm a customer. Checkmate.

Exactly, it takes a lot of courage to stand up in front of the top table and tell the manager to his face that LOTS of fans think his football is rubbish and we are destined for relegation.
So I am not surprised no shareholder wanted to do it.

As I said on another thread the only option is to boycott home games* and let DA see an emptying stadium if you wanna make him take notice. Only trouble is it does nothing positive for the team so it's a catch 22 for those who want rid of Saunders but don't want to affect the team.
*I'm not advocating doing so, just pointing out what it would likely take.

The team already look totally demoralised to me. they have to listen to Saunders's Bunkum daily, the poor barstewards.
6ooo people telling him to do one will cheer them up.

We must have some of the most docile shareholders in the country then. Can't imagine the same happening at sheff u if they had an agm tomorrow
