Former Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is appointed as manager of Blackburn.

With former west brom/ wendies manager alan irvine as assistant. ......actually not a bad pairing.

Does that mean he left off his own back? Remember reading something on here a month or so back their chairman saying they won't sack him and the fans should be patient ect ect.
Here we go again!

I thought they'd improved loads recently, but the Crewe debacle probably finished him off.

Surprised they appointed him in the first place. Really weird appointment. Still, it means one less relegation spot occupied, probably, as Chesterfield's squad probably has enough quality for a new man to sort things out.
These go to eleven.

I'd be happy with watching decent football, with a set up behind the club to find and recruit potential from lower leagues and reserves of big clubs that are schooled in playing the same way.
Build slowly and surely and develop a squad that can eventually challenge consistently at this level.
In short, carry on from the work that Cook started. Success is relative and can wait. Challenging for the top 6 consistently is success in my opinion.
A new hope.

If anything deserves 'negging' that one does. It is well known that Paul Sturrock has got Parkinson's disease!

Agreed an awful condition of which I had first hand knowledge with my father

Sturrock deserves the utmost admiration for carrying on in a very difficult job

Tbf, I didn't know as I'm sure the poster didn't.
