Too early to say, international squads being announced later this week, they've flagged it up as a possibility to their fans booking travel

Is it our players getting called up? Or wigans?

Would be nice if morsy got a call up, he certainly deserves it. Although it would suck if he was the only one called up and we had to play without him (if he's still here)

first season ever where it is realistic that we could have a game postponed due to our own international call ups?

It happened once at Saltergate I think, or it was a possibility at least. Can't remember the players, Jamie Ward might have been one of them for NI's U21 squad maybe. Aaron Downes another? (sorry to mention him, cartman)

There are four international week-ends this season and fans of all clubs would be best advised to check the possibility their clubs may be involved even down in Division Four.

I have to say the idea that two-weeks notice is enough is wrong. Fans today, book travel and accomodation costs months in advance to take advantage of low fares and now risk losing a lot of money. Also, season tickets lose their value because some fans cannot attend mid-week.

I've learned my lesson the hard way. Football is becoming a logistical nightmare for exiles as more and more obstacles are put in their way. You really have to keep your wits about you. My message to the FA and FIFA is, 'put the fans first.'

I think something like this for train travel really needs to be extended :-

They are getting cheaper tickets but more importantly they get to change the date of travel for free should a game be moved after buying them.

game against Dale was postponed but I can't remember which players were involved, think you're right with Downes but not sure of the others, could have been Ward and Kovacs? We got stuffed when the game was eventually played with David Perkins getting a hattrick for them

Carson in goal for Irish U21's maybe?

Or even the Hungarian U21 keeper we had from Spurs? Marton Fulop?

We have been advised by Wigan Athletic that next week's fixture at the Proact is unlikely to be affected by international call-ups.

I don't think FL games should be postponed because of call ups. Clubs have squads and if they employ a lot of foreign players it's entirely their choice, isn't it?

If we had 4/5 England/Ireland/Scotland/Wales youth players who were playing week in week out for us that got called up. You'd say we should still play the game?
