There is one thing for certain...he is worth more than what we got for Clucas. Consistently one of our best players for the past two seasons...only thing he was missing was his his goal scoring!..now he has it.

A goal scoring, box to box midfielder that hardly gives the ball away!! Priceless! He seems happy here, must not like Doyle who's head was turned straight away...Morsy seems to have his head screwed on & knows he's not a one season wonder & will wait for the right club to move to.

Yes, except we would do well to get the same fee as for Clucas cos of shorter length of contract

Presumably Doyle's head got turned so much it came off...?

If he adds goals to his game regularly then maybe, but at the moment not as good as Danny Wilson was

Brighton and Hove Albion submit bid to sign highly-rated 23-year-old midfielder

Chesterfield skipper Sam Morsy is the subject of a £1 million bid from Brighton and Hove Albion, ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline, according to the Sun.

The 23-year-old holding midfielder has been the subject of interest from other Championship clubs, with MK Dons and Cardiff City also reportedly in the running to sign the Spireites captain, but it would seem Chris Hughton’s Brighton have stolen a march in the race to sign Morsy by making a seven figure offer for his services.

Morsy, Chesterfield’s 2013/14 player of the year, captained the club to a sixth place finish in League One in the 2014/15 season under Paul Cook, where they eventually lost in the play-offs to Preston.

Morsy was a stand-out performer last season, and has continued in a similar vein this term, with the 23-year-old scoring two goals in five appearances as Chesterfield find themselves in ninth place after five matches.

Brighton have been busy on the transfer front this past week, with the highly-rated defender Connor Goldson moving to the Amex from Shrewsbury, along with Jamie Murphy joining from Sheffield United.

£1M should do the trick. Last of the Family Silver now sold off.

That's a great price for a player In his last year.
Cooper, Doyle, Clucas, Darikwa Roberts and now Morsy.
Cost around £200k + add ons and net CFC around £4,500,000

A new hope.

A disappointing price for a great player in his last year in my book. What are the odds that in a few years' time it transpires that we've sold ourselves short with a few of those?

Maybe sold ourselves short in the long term but with how we've allegedly been losing money maybe we can't wait that long. We don't know how things will pan out this season, maybe we'll do just fine without them, maybe we won't but one thing's certain, we'll have plugged a gap for a while. If we'd kept them we still might not go up and be in a financial mess. Then we'd be selling more than we have. I don't like losing the best we've had in a very long time but this is town and it's what we have to do to progress. Let's hope that good sell on clauses have been agreed to make this pain worthwhile.

However much the loss for town one million or anything above would be a great price given he could go for nowt next year. Id be surprised if the figure is true but then again I was amazed with what we got for Clucas

What is your definition of progress? Progress to me is we finish higher than last season. Do you think we will? If we don't will it be deemed regression?

Progress or survive? I can't for the life of me equate this to progress. Fundamental weaknesses in our business plan remain and we're simply tiddling in the wind...

It's a good price considering, but I wouldn't call it great one!

Let's face it he's a wanted man, several Championship clubs would like him and are willing to pay a fee, though maybe not all would either be prepared or be able to afford that sort of money, AND several more clubs would want him in the summer when he's available for a good sized signing on fee and wage; so IF those clubs who are prepared to pay for him NOW want him they simply HAVE to stump up a good wedge to make sure they land him and not lose out to bigger teams in the summer.
Let's face it IF Derby, Forest, Birmingham, Wolves, Sheff Wed, Middlesbrough etc come knocking next summer then the teams that are mentioned that are in for him now wouldn't stand a chance, so IF they are going to get their man they know they have to meet our demands... Well IF we've got any sense and can hold our nerve that is

It's progress in debt reduction. Like I said I don't like it but i'm trying to take positives from the situation.

The best way to progress the reduction in debts would be to trade in the black
