I was playing FIFA whilst I was listening to his interview so I missed a few bits - did he honestly say this? Also quoting Wright as some sort of success is very amusing although sadly I must be a c**ktease and not go into precisely why.

Nowt worse than a c**ktease 😭😭😭

Ovonwigun (which amazed me as I though he came straight from Brentford),

First time I saw him was playing for the DS in a PSF at South Normanton last season. He had been freed by Brentford but not been able to get fixed up so applied to our DS, whilst there the club spotted his obvious potential and gave him a contract pdq. So, yes the DS did it's job as, without it, Onuvwigun would never have come onto our radar, even though he was there for days rather than weeks.

I was there anawl, but my impression was simply that they used the match as a convenient vehicle to look at him. If there had been a YT match, they would have used that.

I was told he'd come into the DS, but who cares, I'm just glad he's here as he looks very promising!

If the development centre goes tits up, they'll be no place to hide for CT after what he said yesterday about it being his big idea and how he had to force it through in the teeth of opposition at the club.

They won't like the news that's coming their way then.
A new hope.

Very convenient that Miles Wright has suddenly been handed a contract at the same time the DC's viability is allegedly being questioned.

And Orrell somehow a product? Maybe he parked his car there once. Same applies to Onovwigun.

Perhaps the two directors, Chris Turner and Liam Sutcliffe, could be asked just what links their supposedly stand-alone business has to CFC and if the Club have in any way subsidised it?

Why does cfc need a youth programme it rents facilities has no proper scouting network and is full of substandard players, might as well start at 16 and stick to exit trials and released players

A good question - but there's always the chance of unearthing a star and making £££

Right I'm not privy to the PM's that no one wants to put public.

Obviously from what I can make out that a certain number of posters are basically saying that the CEO and a few others at the club are using a certain business venture to profit themselves while the club suffers. If I'm wrong then please tell me and then I can forget what I'm thinking. If it's tittle tattle then why not just shut up but I believe someone somewhere amongst these posters has heard something they take as gospel and the vendetta against CT has started ??

just listening again, he says that Chelsea FC derived several hundred thousand quid income from their development set up (unless I've heard him wrong) so, again, I don't understand whether it's independent or not.

One of the younger lads I work with regularly is only 15 - has been with a Prem Academy since year 7 (u12's) - wasn't happy so left earlier this year (a number of clubs want him including Juventus and 2 other big clubs over here) widely regarded as one of the countries best prospects at his age. Currently training with another club.
The club hold his registration still and the release fee is £80,000
This of course is compensation fee for his years of development etc but as you see it is big numbers.
Bearing in mind the coaches get £15 an hour there is a big hug profit for the clubs (obv a Cat 1 club demands more)

Ovonwigun (which amazed me as I though he came straight from Brentford), Miles and he thought someone else had that he couldn't remember (tut)

You're right about Ovonwigun that got my back up, he played one friendly at South Normanton last season with the development centre and that was it, whilst Wright is nowhere near the first team, fourth choice at best
