Not strong enough for the Championship and Sheff u can probably get a player with experience at a higher level. He didn't mention any interest from either of them btw when I was talking to him last week

Tbf this was coming from a know all caretaker whilst I worked at Antony bek school over the Easter holidays that also works at mtfc

One thing for sure is that Clucas had given him glowing reports of his time here. He genuinely sees town and our set up etc as being a real step up from our neighbours. I asked him the same question about coming to us just after Clucas came and he honestly said he hadn't played well enough to get a move to us that season, or anyone else for that matter. Seems a really honest type of bloke

Tafazolli isn't a bad shout. He would jump at the chance if he was offered it

Always good to just go and take what we desire from them. I like what I've seen of him and we need to add numbers there.

Mansfield fan on that thread seemed to think they had an extension clause on him? Surely they'd have activated it by now if so?

From what I've heard/seen from people on Facebook, he's a decent defender that would improve us

"Fact of the matter" would be if he signed for us, he play more regular than being bought as a squad player for either Sheffield club. I dare say he'd get recognised quicker playing regular for us than a now and again/ 80th min sub appearance for a Sheffield club- Clucas as an example

Is Port Vale midfielder Michael O'Connor any good?

I wondered that, presumably you have seen what I saw, the piece about him wanting to move nearer to his Lincoln home. I see he was player of the season last season, as voted by the players and fans, but his career seems to have been up and down.

Tafazolli may be a good player but we don't need center backs. We need central midfielders because the ones we have got are awful, and unless that Liam Graham can play next season, then we'll need another fullback as well. In my opinion, we need to invest the majority of our little budget on central midfielders, because Dimaio, Liddle, and Herd shouldn't play for this club again beyond this season. O'Shea can be added to that list if he doesn't start pulling his finger out as well. That leaves Angel, and although he looks a good player with a great passing ability, he isn't the type of rough player who gets stuck in, and he is 30.

One static clogger from Bradford is enough for me.

We'll see how good Hanson is next week. A brute of a centre forward who will knock Anderson and Hird all over the place.

If anything good has come of the last year or so we have at least shown that players can perform for us and then get a move up the ladder if they're good enough. That can't hurt when looking at good, young players from smaller clubs.

Of course we need at least one centre half. We have a loan one now in the side. Without him we are left with Raglan, Hird and a declining Evatt. If we don't sign Anderson, and I'm open to that perhaps, then we need to sign someone else.

We definitely need one, if not two, centre backs. I don't think we should go into next season counting Evatt as anything else other than cover. This injury could gave set him back a long way and, at 34, we need to be looking at his replacement. The fact that we ended up loaning Anderson suggests we didn't have enough centre backs on the books. Liddle could play at CB as possible cover for Hird, but I see Raglan as first cover for Hird, but we do need a solid taller CB to play ahead of Evatt not as cover for him.

Defensively, RB and LB also need attention as we have been woefully short in those positions all season thanks to DS and the injuries we have suffered.

Danny has his work cut out because he will also have to use some of the budget in improving midfield and our striker situation.

It's a big ask but I am sure he will know better than me how he is going to balance the books.

Hird does have the intelligence to deal with monsters at times like he did with ikpeazu this season.

On the other hand, ikpeazu smashed him to pieces for Donny last season.

As usual, when we see Ikpeazu, he tired quickly and was withdrawn after 73 minutes. He has yet to score against us.

I never trust player of the season awards any more. Paul Harsley got player of the season, moved to us and was dire.

I think we should sign this Taf bloke just to annoy the yellow vermin. After all it would be a massive step up. Hello Stagsnet.
