Gutted. I know he was never realistically going to be with us next season, but still.

Lee Novak was the type of player and character that I think could have commanded a similar status to that of Jack Lester, given time at the club.

A fabulous player, a proper pro and a fans favourite.

He's in talks with Shrewsbury fella, he ain't dead 😂

I was going to challenge that assertion, until I checked his goal-scoring record: the boy's scored goals, wherever he's been and he's a huge loss for the club.

Do the Shrews have some substantive financial backing, if they can attract (as it were) players of that calibre?

Exactly what have Shrewsbury got that we havent on similar gates?

I know the obvious answer but is it too much to still expect a bit of ambition from the top whilest he is still in charge?

Mark Randall released by Barnet and Craig Wescarr released by Mansfield. Doesn't seem anywhere left to go for them two now!!

Horrible phrase ain't it? Although I saw Adam Smith playing for Guiseley a few weeks back (don't ask) and he was the best player on the pitch. Wasn't a skill fest by any means. As for Randall, where's RPL when you need him?

Randall has only got himself to blame for his demise. Had a sublime touch of the ball which was proven when he played Westcarr in for his goal at Wembley. He's gone from playing champions league football to being released by Barnet in such a short space of time, it's all down to his attitude.
Westcarr was just as bad. He had some goals in him but chose to take a manager on instead of knuckling down and getting on with his job.
They've both had something what we can only dream of and they threw it away. No sympathy for either of them, I hope they enjoy their time in the conference.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

It wasn't all down to attitude it was also down to a lack of ability in key areas. He was a central midfield player who couldn't head, couldn't tackle, wasn't a box to box player, he had limited shooting ability, which left you with passing. He was good at the twice a game Hollywood ball by he was incapable of realising this was not always required and sometimes a simple 5 yard pass, on the floor, to keep the possession was the best option. He wasn't a good player, hence why he was probably playing for us in the first place and why he has continued to go downhill since he left. It was a myth.

Yeh, a talented player, which is why he has been given so many chances, but as they all found out for themselves, not much use at all.

He hasn't signed for anyone new and was only a loanee but Tope Obadeyi has apparently caused a stir in the Scottish promotion/relegation playoff by staying on his feet and not going down when challenged in the box. Fair play to the lad. He never stayed on his feet when playing for us but that was because he seem to be playing in rollerskates instead of wearing studs.
These go to eleven.

Ah, the lad from Bolton who could sprint at about 60mph in a straight line and not much else? Good for him! Player in not diving shock...painful that such a thing is newsworthy.

Yep, him. Pity I was never given a pro contract on those grounds. Agree on the 'painful' point.

He must be gutted - he seemed very optimistic for the future based on that DC article this week.
