I'm not surprised either. Poor season for them considering how much money they have spent. £1mill on a right-back that has far from solved their problems too.

At least double if not treble our budget to only finish one place ahead of us is certainly a disappointment. I often laugh at clubs getting "too big for their boots" but Sheffield United fans expected much better this season and rightly so.

Terribly unstable club though...How can they get it right?

Paul Cook was a little too hasty in signing to Portsmouth, as sure he would have had a great chance of getting the managers job at Sheffield, and they are a much bigger club than Portsmouth, and he could have got them into the championship in a year, rather than waste 2 to 3 years trying to get Portsmouth to the same position.

Shame, because with him in charge next year we had nothing to worry about.

With the right manager, Sheff United will be up there next year.

Cook might regret his rush to Portsmouth now as this was the gig he wanted.

Wish that they had kept him, he was brilliant at keeping them in the third division. On a possative note it could be good for young Diego

He might walk out on Pompey lol. I thought he'd end up at sheff Utd after the play offs. He jumped too soon

Indeed.....and I'm not sure the Pompey fans will be patient. They will demand promotion this season.
A new hope.

He certainly did. Probably showed how keen he was to leave us that he didn't hang on a few weeks to see what opportunities came up

He didn't have the track record in October to make any demands, except maybe some internal threats to DA. Would he have got the Portsmouth job if we had finished mid table?.
