A player whose usual second touch is a sliding tackle . ( think very very sub standard Carlton Cole )

Good luck with this one Fleetwood , I have happy childhood memories of Fleetwood

Or in the words of George Best 'he controls it further than I can kick it'.

Strangely apt as the size of our strategy to avoid the trap door scramble would be equivalent to an amoeba!

 But at least they recognise their position and are prepared to try to do something about it.Obviously they value their place in Div 1.

Given the choice of Amoebi and Ebanks-Blake wouldn't most of us have gone for Ebanks-Blake? A few yrs younger and with a far better scoring record (including Premiership).

I'd have taken him until the end of the season, no doubt at all.

So Fleetwood take a 34 year old has been, most probably on decent money, and are pushing the boat out to try and save themselves yet Saunders has received nothing but criticism for squandering money on ageing has beens in the form of SEB, Herd and Novak.

I am no fan of Dean Saunders whatsoever but I find it amusing how this was one of the many sticks used to beat him with yet when another club do the same, they are pulling out the stops to remain in the division.

When he was at Bolton Shola Ameobi offered to play for nothing, he just wanted to carry on playing. So perhaps Fleetwood have got a striker for not alot of money.

Could he have done us a job till the end of the season?

Well the opinion appears to be that they are has beens. After all, they both have pedigree and are now with us in a struggling side playing at a lower level. Regarding ageing, compared to myself they are both young bucks. However compared to the likes of Armstrong at Coventry, who's lit the league up at 19 years old, they are definitely on the downward slope.
