Christ! That's plain crazy if we are stuck with a injured Novak and still paying the wages. I thought injured loan players go back to their parent club for treatment. Surely we can't pay wages to a injured player who isn't ours????

Depends on what's been agreed, I guess?

Why wouldn't we? I'd assume on a season long loan that would be standard practice unless agreed otherwise in advance.

It be like hiring a car and paying for repairs and a MOT yourself.
Say, as an example, he received treatment for an injury from our medical team and our team made it worse, what would Brum say? Breakages must be paid for?

He has gone back to Brum for treatment before. Whether than means we paid his Wages or not is another matter. Unless he is injured badly enough to be out for the rest of the season then we cannot cancel his loan.

Or, perhaps leasing a car, and indeed paying for repairs and MOT costs....
Like Westbars I am sure we will be stuck with any loan costs agreed.

So, if he's got an injury which rules him out returning to a football pitch prior to 8th May, we can cancel the loan?

The season finishes 13 weeks today.

If that's the case, I can't see another loan player to cover the injured loan player.
Is Ebanks injured too? Hamstring? Our two starting strikers out leaves Simons and Mani

Its a normal thing written into season long loans, like when they're injured, they go back to their parent club for treatment etc

Regards Novak as I mentioned on the other thread I'm 99% certain that as its a long term loan it can only be cancelled inside the January transfer window. As that has gone he is here til the end of the season no matter what. Now whether there are things in the loan agreement regarding what we pay etc if he's injured I don't know but I suspect not but we won't be cancelling the loan and using his wage for others.

Given the fact we can't make a significant profit after selling players assets then I believe drastic action is required in terms of cost cutting.

Just a few thoughts

1 Wages and Salaries of non playing staff. - This is the first area to target in terms of reductions. I suspect redundancy costs would be minimal.

2 Wages Budget - I think we will need to introduce a Wage Cap - maximum wage of £2k per week. There will be a number of players in the current squad who are earning more than this currently and I cannot think of one whereby we are getting value for money.

3 Other running costs e.g next season we will not need to open the North stand for the majority of home games.

4 Season ticket pricing to he held at current prices.

5 Reduction in player bonus payments.

Scrap the reserve team too. It's served little to no purpose and half the games have been called off. In turn that means we can let go of players that are never gonna get in the first team.

Oh and the big screen always seems to be on at night, might as well save some electric and switch it off.
Here we go again!

So in this age of austerity you want people to lose their jobs?

Most match day sraff will be part time anyway.

The best option would be to taeget those areas that are incurring loses.

We could start with the floodlights for ever burning bright midweek.

God I hate this league.

The problem we have next season is as it stands at the moment, the emergency loan windows have been scrapped. So once the transfer windows close, if we get 2 or 3 injuries, we'll then be reliant on youth team players

Who from the current squad, do you think earn at least 2k per week?

Tommy, Talbot, Hird, Novak, SEB, Evvo, Liddle for starters
