Thought GA was unplayable when he came on, outstanding

Should have been given more of the ball. Had their left back worried about getting booked again and being sent off as well.

Why he wasn't told to be permanently on the touch line to give us width I'll never know. He was mainly tucked in with everyone else just clogging up the middle of the pitch even more. He was class when he finally got out wide. Great piece of skill as well when he did the full back. No one else in the side can do things like that so he has to start every game regardless of how unpredictable he is. We're such a paceless, predictable side and easy to play against. Even worse for the fans it's turgid to watch.

Wesley is the master of wasting time - bookings coming now though, still a good situation for us.

Refs never seem to act on time wasting

What gets to me is that the mayhem prior to our first half corners being taken is induced by defenders blatantly letting the ref see that they are holding, with the sole intent of forcing delays which always results in no punishment and no time added on. The refs in their naivety see the incidents as mutual jousting instead of time wasting.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

I've thought of a foolproof way of ensuring cynical, crafty sides like Westleys don't get to timewaste.

Score the first fecking goal. And then preferably get another.

It was a foul on Lee, no doubt. But, we seem to be getting on the end of a fair number of bad refereeing decisions throughout this season.

On the subject of their goalkeeper - is not there a case for describing "feigning injury" as "simulation"? What is the difference between a player diving to try and gain an advantage or a player feigning injury to try and gain an advantage. The laws of the game should allow a referee to observe the agility of a player following such deceit and book him retrospectively as it is rare to see somebody with a bad back leap about so easily.

Then again, the laws of the game allow the referee to book players for time wasting - what a waste of time that was yesterday with "Mr I'm in Westley's pocket"!

When the keeper first went down with his back injury we were beginning to put a bit of pressure on their goal with the kop making some noise

Cue play stopped for at least 2 minutes taking the wind out of our sails and quitening the crowd

It is one of the oldest tricks in the book but the problem is most refs cannot see through it and just tell the keeper to get up and play on

for fear of getting in the neck on the faint chance the keeper really is injured

The mere fact that Alnwick was soon diving about again soon after should have alerted the ref to the fact that he was trying it on and laughing

at him

Its just a pity we did not really give him a bad back by having to pick the ball out of the net a few times

Still with Westley joining the other 2 obnoxious toads in charge what do you expect from a Peterboro side

And the beauty is not that we can watch them again on the BBC on wednesday and Skys love in with Peterboro continues with the home match with Coventry

being shown later in the season

What keeper would try to catch a ball from an inswinging corner right under his own crossbar amidst a crowd of players in windy wet conditions.Poor keeping as Tommy has eluded to.

What most of these posts appear to ignore is the fact that they were only able to adopt time - wasting tactics because we weren't good enough to prevent them scoring. We were also not good enough to take a single chance, the most glaring example being Novak's staggering inability to get a shot on target with a free kick right on the edge of their penalty area. Finally, it was pretty clear, I think, to most in the crowd, that we wouldn't have scored with an extra 70 minutes. I hope and trust DS is focusing our players minds on improving their performance rather than moaning about officials and opposition tactics.

DS? Gawd I hope he's not back!!

Though that does explain it !!

Funnily enough, that crossed my mind (in a Kenneth Williams voice) as I typed it!

His back was in remarkably good shape when he went running up the pitch at the end to celebrate.
