Payton Manning announces his retirement.
Would've been the biggest mistake of his life if he were to try one more season, he's gone out on the biggest high he could have.

How his brother has won the same number of rings as Peyton beggars belief...

One heck of a dynasty mind you that Archie Manning created.

Well played that number 18 - now you can focus on your awful TV endorsements.

More to the point - Megatron has retired..

Did Marshawn Lynch make it official then? Not seen anything yet.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Not quite NFL. But have a look the drawings for a High School stadium which is about to be approved in Texas.

Even High School football is big over there though isnt it, not like a 6th form footy game at Brookfield or alike. My wife has relatives who live about an hour outside of San Diego and they quite often on Friday nights will go and watch the local high school games. It all seems to be planned out as an NFL game on a Thursday, high school games are Fridays, college games on Saturdays and then NFL again Sunday and Monday so there is no conflict.

Where's the school building?
Their school grounds must be the size of Whitt moor surely?

Yep, and if you ignore the second series, Friday Night Lights the TV show is actually pretty good!
It's huge, especially in Texas, the coaches are some the highest paid people in the state, the players are interviewed on TV / newspapers / Radio.
By the time you hit the last few year in high school you will be graded for college recruits, it's a whole different world.

back to soccer for a second, but, at the college level, it's interesting seeing that a lot of our old youth team were mentioning soccer scholarships at US universities, if they can get to do a degree for no fee that would be a great opportunity and a way of getting into the MLS at the end of it.

Somewhere in there it said that there were no school buildings in those plans ( I assume they have to keep the old buildings for that!)

This has really shocked me.
I really had big hopes for him this year.
Im probably still at the anger stage. It's not like you can even get angry at anyone else. He was on a non road legal bike with out lights. Dirt tyres and dark clothing and no helmet!! Even if somebody did run a red light. You have built up a big set of things that could go wrong in the best of circumstances.
My thoughts are with his family and friends.
