Hello again chaps,

Strong rumours here is that we (Grimsby Town) are signing Gregor Robertson very shortly. I notice that he spent a sizable chuck of his career with you.

Will be be a decent signing for us, remembering the ###### level that we still find ourselves at.

Cheers in advance.

Good consistent player, quite versatile but very unlucky with injuries. If you can keep him fit you've got a good un. Played left back, left mid and centre back for us but looked best in central defence. Calm and assured.

Don't know how he's been affected by further injuries but he's a solid player at his best.

I'm fairly sure he's being brought in to play left-back as our usual left-back has recently left the club. If he can cover a number of different positions though, that'll be a bonus come any injuries and suspensions.

Cheers for the info.

We always used to have a minority who needed a scapegoat- we're doing okay at the moment so their need seems less- and Gregor was that man for a while, even though he was not a bad player. That affected his confidence during his early months with us but he grew into a steady performer and a decent basement left-back. It was a pity when he picked up a serious injury as he was playing well in a good side at that time.
These go to eleven.

My memory of him is that he had a very bad start with us, and was a big target for the boo boys. He had some guts though, got stuck in, didn't go hiding or whine about his treatment from the crowd and won a lot of people over through obvious effort and courage. Nevertheless he didn't really look a good left back. Then John Sheridan tried him as the left sided centre half possibly because of injuries and he suddenly improved and looked a very good in that position at league 2 level. Then he had more injury problems (he has had v bad luck with injuries) and we let him go. Its been a while since he left, age and injuries wont have made him better, but I hope he stays fit and does well, he is the type that deserves good luck.

Confirmed signing now alongside Newport County winger Christian Jolley.

Here's hoping they can help us in our final push to get out of this Godforsaken division.

Big fan on Robbo's. Nice player, great left peg, unlucky with injuries but on the whole, did well for us.

I liked him- career sadly ruined by that freak injury at Edgar Street (which was an awful game).

Same as, always like Gregor. Good lower league player and was looking very good until his injuries. I hope he's fine now with them and wish him all the best.

He's doing ok surprisingly.

He played a few games for us pre-season and didn't show anything really and I don't think you would have found one Grimsby fan who wanted us to sign him, but Paul Hurst saw something in him and gave him a contract and he's proved us all wrong by putting in some really good performances.

He's in and out of the starting line up as we have Craig Disley and Scott Brown as our first choice centre-mids but whenever he has played he always puts in a decent shift and never lets anyone down.

Speaking of Craig Clay, anyone remember this mental excuse for a game?

Excellent debut for Gregor last night in our win at Eastleigh. He slotted into the left-back roll as if he'd been playing there all season.

Hopefully he can carry on the same form for the rest of the season and help us out of this awful league.

He had an excellent spell as centre back during the tail end of our 2010-11 promotion season so he's quite versatile too.

A better player than most would give him credit for. Remember him scoring a cheeky goal vs Rochdale too where he bombed into the area and finished like a centre forward.

I wonder if it's a prerequisite for fans of non-league clubs who think they belong in the football league to use the description "an awful league" whenever they refer to said league?

Is it also a prerequisite for teams who think they should be in league one describe league 2 as "an awful league" - as we did frequently last season!
