Margreitter in the squad.

I thought he was out for a while longer.

I rate Charlie Raglan as better than him

Fair enough. I don't, though it's not to say the Evatt/Marg combo has been much good as they both want to do the same thing.

It's perfectly plausible for 'worse' players to work better together.

Raglan is solid, has bags of potential.

Cook left Johnson out of the squad for a lesser player because his loan was nearly up so hopefully Raglan will keep his place.

I would say that when i've watched raglan play, he is confortable on the ball and also has decent pace to get back. I've not been 100% convinced by Margreitter performances and would probably want to stick with Raglan.

Depending on how fit Margreitter is...is there a case for playing him and Raglan?

Raglan has done very well since he became the first choice by default, so it would be a shame to drop him now. Me, I'm not entirely convinced yet, we need to see him against better opposition, but the signs are there.

There's a case for any combination of the three really.

More concerningly though, what's he gonna do in the middle of the park?

Raglan played last week at Crewe through necessity and, IMO, had a very decent game. He is our player so why drop him for a loanee who will be gone soon and then we expect Raglan to drop straight back in. There is no gulf in class as there was in the Johnson situation, which sparked the unrest, so I would stick with Raglan. The only way I would be dropping him was if our loanee offered a far better option, which he doesn't.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong, Raglan hasn't really done much wrong at all from what I've heard (I've only seen him against Port Vale and Yeovil who were absolutely toothless) but I'm not sure he's been better than Margs, you've got to take into account the teams we've played with each of them in our team. Yeovil, Braintree and Crewe vs a bunch of good teams.

That being said if he's going back soon then I don't see why we shouldn't keep Evo and Raglan together.

Raglan has looked confident and has done enough to retain the shirt. The one difficulty is that him playing means Evett plays on the left side and he does not look entirely comfortable there. Would we want to drop the captain to bring in a left sided central defender who may not be fully fit or leave it alone and just accept Evett might be a little more exposed. I would be tempted to start with the Raglan/Evett partnership.

Im not concerned about dropping raglan, magreitter has a higher pedigree at present and raglan will still be over the moon at getting his chance in which he has let nobody down, better to keep his powder dry and for him to reflect on his experience than go again with him,his time will come .

Georg only joined in training later in the week. You surely can't change the current successful back 4 on that basis.

I'd probably keep Raglan in.

Given Evatt's recent form, should Raglan be the one to make way....?

If Cook sticks to his own beliefs he shouldn't be, though I think he'll play Raglan & Evo as I doubt Margreitter will be fully fit. However if his fitness wasn't a doubt I'm convinced Raglan would be the one making way.
