Lose a couple?

We haven't won for what seems like ages.

Fair point, but I think you would agree that there is a tendency for either complete doom and gloom or over-expectation depending on a result or two. We might be in a lull at the moment with a little calm before the storm.

We've had folk on here moaning when we've been top of the league for a while with a decent cushion so nothing surprises any more!

Thats three decent pubs in town off the top of your head then!

The two wetherspoons are ok, especially spa lane. Chandlers is good.

If youre prepared to walk a few hundred yards theres the Chesterfield Arms.

Rpl being allowed to post on this board as a female is absolutely pathetic, it will slowly kill the messageboard.

Indeed, certainly a contributing factor in me not posting much these days

Only one guy has generalised the whole town as sh*te. Most are just bemoaning that the official away pub is the Victoria WMC.

Even if you just stick to those three, that's three more than the average town centre

Should see some of the towns I've lived in in the last 25 years

Typical thick Yorkies

Some of them don't fit my criteria as being good pubs

As a counter balance to the Yorkies, I've come up to Chesterfield with some Bournemouth supporting mates for a couple of games in recent years and they love the quantity and quality of pubs in the town centre and just out of town. These are real ale aficionados so aren't that easily pleased. Mind you they come from a town full of Yates and Walkabouts

How anyone complain about pubs when the Derby Tup is just behind the away end is beyond me.

Debating pubs! The title of the thread is a good one

The welbeck is ok if you dribble down your chin and still think a bkack and yellow plastic netto carrier bag is a fashion item.

The Derby Tup would be much improved with a landlord who cracked a smile every now and again. He's a right misery and the beer is never as good as I'd expect.
