Ha ha. I think you'll find that they voted to stop British. They weren't asked if they wanted to be English or the result would have been very different. Someone you know is about to set off for your place and is going to stuff her toy bagpipes right up your arris. Wish I could be there to see the smile on your face!

Maybe they aren't royalists?

Maybe they don't like the verse about crushing rebellious scots?

Who knows, I just wish it wasn't our national anthem

I don't get overly excited about rushing back to watch an England anymore....but I bet the whole of Scotland are in front of the box!

Have to say though this is the best England have played for a long time...great goal

I'm English and I'd boo that revolting dirge of an anthem. Let's have something uplifting and about our country not our beloved German Royal family. (the last bits meant to be ironic by the way).

Everyone's national anthem basically says "We're better than that lot next door"

Apart from Spain's which has no words

I think we should have the Benny Hill theme tune and have ot dress up as Scout master and nurses

Great game, England really playing well at the minute. Clyne and Shaw are the future at fullback and should finally see the end of Johnson.

Wilshere and Rooney excellent again too.

I'd like to agree wholeheartedly with you on this, but I can't help thinking that the game last night was - in effect - the equivalent of a top eight Premiership team against a mid-table Championship team (looking at the players involved and the style of football). So, a fairly convincing victory should have been expected. I am not convinced it would have been as good/positive against a team playing a continental style. That said, it is pleasing to get the type of result we should be getting and not under performing. I will reserve judgement for the time being, but we're going in the right direction.

Incidentally, it pleases me greatly not to have Gerrard clogging things up - a huge step forward in my opinion.

I think your chariot of fire may be a little over-excited.

I'm prone to over excitement in that department buddy, but that's what my English Literature lecturer reckoned, still an uplifting tune though.
