Pleased we won the league but there were many disappointing home performances , ending in draws when a quality striker would have turned them into wins. I'm sure this impacted on home attendances.

Our current starting eleven in vastly superior to that which started the last campaign in League 1, yes we are short of a proven striker however we had one of those last season on a high wage. That didn't work out to well did it, Rico who you yourself stated a few years ago we should break the bank for.
Every signing is a gamble, we do not have the budget as it stands to take such a gamble. We would all love to see DA and the board splashing the cash but it's time for a reality check, lets just get behind the lads and see what happens.

How are you guaranteeing increased attendances? What happens if he invests in 2 strikers, they flop and our average attendance doesnt hit 7k+?

Yes getting bored of all this now, we have no more money so no point complaining about it even more. Roll on Aug 9th at Orient, can't wait for the season to start - going shopping with the mrs is sending me insane
Ps - on a separate note £25 to watch town and orient!!! WTF?

so then, time for the important bits. Train down to St Pancras and across to Liverpool Street to change for Tube to Leyton. So are we using the Wetherspoons at Liverpool Street as a meeting point.

Send the club an email exactly with those words Dave. They won't laugh and discard it instantly at all

I'm pleased we won the league but some of the performances ,or should I say part of some of the performances were dyer and if I was a part time supporter coming to watch such as the Rochdale home game then I wouldn't be to keen on watching us again in a hurry. I know we beat them for 90 minutes but what a mess in injury time!! The Morcambe away game was another but it was the home games that were sometimes a real let down and this is really what counts if you want the armchair fans back next week. Dave Allan has been fantastic for this club but to criticise fans is not the answer. Ultimately he makes all the big decisions at cfc and not having your finger on the button ( looking now and then at the bank balance and weighing up close season and how many heavy bills are coming our way ) is his responsibility. I know if it were my money in the club I'd be keeping a close eye on things.

I'd guess around 5-600 through the turnstiles would more than pay the type of striker we have been linked with recently, bit of a chicken and egg scenario

Agreed Sabreman.
Cook won’t be the first Manager to have a squad that lacks depth in one or more departments. There are assets within the squad that could generate revenue so it’s not as if he is totally powerless in terms of making alterations to the squad. I too wouldn’t be surprised to see the club utilise the loan market for a Striker on a season long loan whereby the cost would be shared with the parent club.

Poor or selective memory you have there. The most common complaint under JS was that the football was ponderous, too much dwelling on the ball in the middle third. The counter attacking was excellent but if a team sat back JSs side could be clueless

Yep we just had the strikers to blast one in out the blue, when things weren't going that well
