Air strikes will do the square root of ****** all. ISIL isn't going to go away by just dropping bombs on it. You need political stability and unity in the countries that are hotspots for ISIL recruitment. Then you need a unified war effort from said countries to break their military backbone and show that they aren't all conquering. Sending Western troops in there or just bombing indiscriminately will just fuel further anger and extremism.

Sadly ISIL serves a purpose for several countries in thé région. For Assad it's an outside force weakening the Syrian Resistance movements, for Turkey they are another front that the Peshmergas have to fight on. And Iraq is in the midst of a civil war so not able to do much. So any form of a unified coalition to take ISIL down is not even close to materialising. And given their oilfields yield £3-4 million per day they aren't going to run out of money anytime soon either.

Won't happen that way. Islamist extremism is on the rise across the Middle East and those governments are just as much a target for it as we are. Look at Egypt voting for the Muslim brotherhood Algeria and the AIG etc.

Islam is where Christianity in Europe was 500 years ago - at war with itself and in desperate need of reformation. There is also the Palestinian/Israeli situation that is a festering boil and a source of great anger, which also desperately needs to be resolved. Until that happens you won't have peace
A new hope.
