I tried to get tickets at 9 yesterday morning but the system said all cheap tickets had gone already so I assume many of these were bought by people hoping to sell them on at a profit. I refused to pay nearly £70 a ticket on the basis that it is the first concert being held at the venue so there's no guarantee of what the acoustics will be like.

they might only be worth face value - to the original buyer ?

heard talk yesterday that CFC have not got planning consent for the concert yet - they apparantly need written consent from the planning dept to hold anything other than a sporting event in the stadium ?

looking at the original planning consent it states -

17. Notwithstanding the provisions of the Town & Country Planning (General
Permitted Development) Order 1995 (or any order revoking or
re-enacting that Order), the football stadium shall not be used for other
uses in Class D2 without the written approval of the Local Planning
Authority.

Reasons for Conditions

17. To safeguard the residential amenities of the surrounding occupiers.

It's a huge event for the Town as a whole. Even if they haven't got permission yet (does anyone really believe that cos I don't) then I doubt it would be a problem.

i'm sure they will but it would be hilarious if they didn't ,

was told it hadn't gone before the planning commitee yet and some of then were pretty peed off about it being announced before it had been agreed .

Of course they have everything needed to stage this event otherwise it wouldn't have been given the go ahead, although i stress they have not consulted local residents  unless they have been calling on a international or witheld number neither of which i answer

You must have inside knowledge then but if it has been given the nod then maybe you know nothing at all......
