Maybe Kev could turn out at CH in L2 for a couple of seasons?. He's got the brain and the brawn.

Maybe nows the time to look at a player-coach role if that appeals. I have no idea whats interests him after his playing days are over. Would not surprise me to see Dale make a move.
God I hate this league.

He says, plucking a totally random north-west team out of a hat.

They've got Calvin Andrew for that role, so it would immensely surprise me if Dale made a move.

he scored 4 goals in 70 games for preston according to wiki. no... just no.

Jack Lester had only scored 50 goals (1 in 6 games) in 13 seasons before joining us.

He was hardly prolific

Jack Lester was 30/31 when he joined us and had played a lot of football in the Championship whereas Davies is 38 and played a lot of those 70 games in which he scored 4 goals in this league. There really is no comparison.

He has never been the most prolific of strikers though has he... He has always been the guy who creates the chances.

Be interesting to see how many chances he created/how many assists he got at PNE

I didn't go myself but I'm sure I remember a few on here commenting on how well he played when they beat us at home in the league last season. Didn't he put the cross in for the first?

So just because you're not keen doesn't mean a player is no use.
In all honesty I think super Kevin maybe too old now, but anyone with his experience is good to have around.
If you do what you always do, you'll get what you always get.

he'd be of use I'm sure. Probably score 5-8 goals if he played most of the season. That doesn't mean we should sign him. Why do ppl want average players with poor records? No disrespect cos he was obviously a very good player but 4 goals in 70? Surely anyone wanting to sign him is doing it for novelty reasons or letting their heart rule their head.

Yup, agreed... it certainly appears to be a case of heart ruling head for many on here.

Average player with a poor record? Over a decade in the top flight and an England cap? Poor record? Your having a laugh.

Chill your beans, I'm perfectly aware of Davies' abilities a few years back in the Prem and before that too, I rated him highly as a player and I'm sure he's still a consummate professional. However that doesn't really affect how he is now - 38 years old and a striker with a rather unflattering strike record for Preston at the level we play at. We've got Armand, Mani, Harrison and Ebanks-Blake, that doesn't scream goals to me so to add someone else to the equation with a recent poor scoring record would be crazy. Is he suddenly going to get better? He's on a natural downward spiral as anyone at his age would be, in fact he's done well to stay playing regular football for as long as he has.

Don't know why I'm discussing this really, it's not gonna happen as he isn't the answer to our problems.

Yes he did play well and was instrumental in their goal. What disappointed me was his celebration. Good luck to him whenever he gets another club.
