Did ok for someone who is finished against Chelsea last season. They won the Premier League by the way.

But can he do it on a mild night in Carlisle?

I tend to agree that he would be a good solid signing. The excuse that he played on a crap pitch therefore his goal ratio for Bradford is a bit of a cop out IMO as it's still the same for all other 21 players on the pitch.

But they were all crap, it was hoofball all the time.

I would prefer another striker instead.

Well on that reasoning we won't stand a chance because arsenal, United and City will be after him then!!

Still not for me and I can't see us signing another older striker SEB will be our experience up top I'm sure. Stead has peaked and he's on his way down not up so correct me if I'm wrong but that goes against the policy the club has introduced.

We will see who's right though eh

Might make a very good foil for SEB, and help teach "the big French lad" how to play up top as a target man?

Maybe but its not a signing that would set my pulse racing. I am hoping for better and younger...

It still works for some teams though, which is my point.

Clearly more than you my friend 😉

Couldn't even get in a team in our league! I knew he would end up at a much lesser team than our own I was thinking maybe... Fleetwood 🙊

So will at least 6 or 7 other average strikers.

I still think he would have been a good addition for us.

I'm not saying we every made him an offer or we were even interested in him, though Notts are just one of many clubs that would probably can afford to pay a bit more in wages than what we are currently prepared to, so him joining Notts doesn't mean that he's only good enough for the level below us. Money, 1st team/ squad player, club and location can all play a part in where a player ends up; plus I hope he bags a hatful at Feel ill now :glare:

For the record.. I would have had him for a season if the terms were right and probably a fair few league one clubs would have done had the same approach, so it's not hard to see why Notts got his signature as they probably really wanted him and were prepared to beat off competition, whereas clubs at our level wouldn't have been so bothered and looking more at a useful squad player than anything else.
Kev Davies is a bit the same (at the right price for a season), though I hate to see our ex heros come back to have to watch them look totally shot, it's really sad to see and it pains me to witness it.

Didn't look particularly 'shot' when he was here with Preston last season. In fact, the whipped cross he put in for a team mate to score with a neat header was proper top drawer. I reckon he could do a job from the bench for a season to bring down the curtain on a fine career in the most fitting way.
We're on our way
