Wonder if this will reopen the door for #Chesterfield fc? "@ParkerTandA: Davies signing means end of road for Stead at #bcafc .... "

Always seems to score against us....................

Good at holding the ball up something we've been short of for half a season.

God I hate this league.

I'd take him. Not sure what his demands would be though. Could we afford him?

Did it ever really truly go away?

He's 32 years old, scored 6 goals in 30 odd appearances last season and has never been prolific....if he ain't good enough for Bradford he ain't good enough for us!

He's got all the technical attributes, especially to bring others into play. It's interesting reading all the threads. Peoples' views on where we need to strengthen are so diverse that it proves we have a bludddy good team.

To me, the weakness now is that we only have 1 player, Clucas, who can guarantee us 10 goals from one of the 3 positions behind the striker. Gboly, Banks, Gardner are unknown quantities and Jayo might do it providing he is not sulking. That's where we have to strengthen otherwise we might have a severe shortage of goals. I think Stead could help these 3, whoever they are, to get goals.

Nobody should be playing on a pitch like that in the football league. They should make them play on a neutral ground when it gets that bad.

God I hope this doesn't happen! Stead is finished what we need is a goal scorer not someone who used to score goals. People see the premier league on his CV and think he must be good. Sorry not for me another overpaid has been stick with Armand 😉

Stead is a very good footballer, he is an intelligent target man who I guarantee most strikers (SEB) would love to feed off. I always rated him and looked good everyone he saw him last season. He plays on a dog pitch every other week and with other 'target man' strikers. I'd be happy with a year contract.

I tend to agree that he would be a good solid signing. The excuse that he played on a crap pitch therefore his goal ratio for Bradford is a bit of a cop out IMO as it's still the same for all other 21 players on the pitch.

Might make a very good foil for SEB, and help teach "the big French lad" how to play up top as a target man?
A new hope.

In last seasons team thought Stead might have done us a job but will wait and see what develops now until December before coming to any real thoughts about the side

Did ok for someone who is finished against Chelsea last season. They won the Premier League by the way.
