Wonder if this will be a development squad team, can't see it being a high enough standard for our new reserve team

Here are the details of the league the reserves will play in

http://www.thestar.c...roact-1-7342824

So we have the development squad, YT, U21 league, Reserves and First Team next season. We must be running more teams than at any time since the immediate post war years when we seemed to run about six teams

The reserve team league looks very similar to the one we were last in. Small league will probably suit us as we can still have friendlies between fixtures. The U21 league looks interesting, a couple of grounds I've not been to in there so I hope the fixtures are publicised in advance so we have a chance of getting to them. I wonder if this U21 league is for the Development Squad, perhaps replacing the one they were in last season which had games against clubs from the west country and lots of travelling.

It would be nice for the club to announce what is happening behind first team level for the coming season, after all it's less than a month away. Given Phil's article in the Star, I expect there to be an announcement today, I just hope it gives us a full breakdown of the leagues we are playing in and which of our teams will be taking part in each league - and where the home games will take place!!!

Cant say i'm to up on all this but will it be separate U21 and Reserve teams or will it be like the Prem club set up where the reserves is the U21 side and they allow so many over 21 players to play in order for players returning from injury etc to get games?

Separate teams. Reserves have no age limit as far as I'm aware. The u21's are another part of the academy, an extra place to develop the youth team once they're past 18

Odd phrase, 'shadow squad'. Not seen it used before and it's the sort of terminology I'd expect to see if the Development Squad was being integrated more into the main club.

Shirebrook is not local enough but looks like we'll remain there if nothing else comes to fruition. All about cat 3 requirements.
God I hate this league.
