Good luck to Jamie Ward. One the most exciting players we have seen over recent years. Some of the goals he scored for town were top draw. Credit to McFarland.

The chief may not have scored many goals, but was an integral part of the team, and was crucial to the side
A new hope.

Dexter Atkinson signs for Europa Point. Maybe they can improve him and send him back a better prospect?

Personally, I've never heard of him. Has anyone else?

Not looked if it's been posted anywhere but they're sending him back on trial. Top scorer despite only playing half the league games

only club in our division able to afford him.

It's about time parachute payments were made illegal, talk about distorting the game. Wigan's budget could be ten times most clubs in the division. Totally unfair reward for failure.

The justification is that without them clubs would go bust upon relegation from the PL, well tough, if they didn't pay obscene wages in the first place it wouldn't happen.

Instead of parachute payments the PL could simply take over the contracts of those players the clubs couldn't afford to keep and sell them to anybody that wanted them - and if nobody did it would be cheaper for the PL to put them on gardening leave and pay it themselves rather than give parachute payments.

No club in any division should be given more from central funds than any other. The NFL model (plus relegation, of course) would be ideal.

Whilst I have sympathy with your sentiments, your solution is undoubtedly impractical. As for importing ideas from the NFL, or anywhere else in the USA, forget it.

If that's impractical, how about this one: no club receiving a parachute payment can be promoted. That should make it a more even competition, a level playing field
