Since when has there been greyhound racing on a Sunday? Lol.

why don't you click the link and find out?

top class racing from midday on the 15th!

thought someone who posts so often (with great authority I might add) on finances of the club may think to check his facts before making such a condescending post

Have you finished?

It's a one off, they've specifically put the race meeting on to coincide with Mothering Sunday.

both of those venues are open for normal business that day so adding a Mothers day meal option makes no difference to them, just an extra option they can offer to punters

the proact would be opening specifically for the event which makes a massive difference as the event would have to cover all overheads of opening up

You're grasping at straws here, 'C'.

The whole idea of building the new stadium was to offer 365 days a year facilities, so to suggest it's not cost effective to open up on non-matchdays is bizarre.

And as has been established, Mothers Day events have been staged and well attended there previously.

Perhaps there's a very good reason Town are snubbing such an opportunity, I dunno, but you can't blame folk for scratching their heads given recent history.

Not taking sides either way f2 but you have obviously not been in a bookmakers on a Sunday recently because greyhound racing on that day is part of the regular entertainment

but they are still opening the whole venue and will hope to attract others that don't care about going out for Mothers Day - and there is plenty of racing on Sundays (although Sheffield usually don't run that day)

and perhaps they didn't make enough money for the powers that be to think it is a good idea to do it again

and certain events will be cost effective to open on a non match day as will bring loads more in than a few hours mothers day lunch - weddings, christmas parties etc etc

It's extremely rare to have racing at Sheffield on a Sunday, such fixtures are usually wrapped up in a Father's / Mother's Day package.

yes they don't do much racing on Sundays at Sheffield

but, they will hope to attract plenty of people and not just mothers day groups, they will have the whole stadium open and not just the restaurantes, they will have races and bookies and hope that the event does not need the mothers day bookings to make money

surely not hard for you to see the difference between opening a stadium for a sporting event that you can go for a meal at and opening a stadium ONLY for a short time during the day for meals

not accepting anything

as I have stated several times, moaning about this lack of a mothers day meal and using it as a stick to beat the club is pathetic

especially when those moaning have no idea why there is no meal (as I don't)

there are things at the club that need to be questioned, especially about finances and F2 usually does that very well, but there are simply decisions that do not need to be questioned as it should be trusted that the club know what they are doing, this is one of them!

Especially as the catering side of the business is something that obviously is run well - with all hospitality at games sold out, several events such as Ruddock, Saunders, him from The Chase all sold out or expected to sell out and anyone who goes to any of these events will tell you how well they are done
