The new Coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days. How can one know if he/she is infected? By the time they have fever and/or cough and go to the hospital, the lung is usually 50% Fibrosis and it's too late. Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning. We’ve kind of given up unless you are already needing urgent help. When all this is done and dusted, it would be handy to know how many were actually effected for future modelling, instead of having this finger in the air approach

Don’t think anyone is suggesting that testing is about curing people, it is about identification of current (or at least recent) situation so measured decisions can be made.

I was watching Channel 4 last night and they had a report on a cheap new test (almost instant) that didn’t test for the virus, but the antibodies that are created to fight the virus. The downside is that you’ll be infectious by then, but it could stop medical staff from continually infecting vulnerable people
