Agree I can't see them not following suit, although it's crazy to say suspend until 3rd April when the situation will be far worse, it's effectively season over

I did post a while back recommending people to get along to the Harrogate game because it could be the last home game for a while.

At the end of a season everyone has played the same number of games, not the case in March

Agree with Moondog, this suspension has come too soon & should be coming in around the beginning of April not ending. Having said that, I see no possibility for the resumption of the season. Positions as they stand should count in my view rather than making the season null & void.

Well whatever the excuses, it is because of Arteta the season has been posponed - not crowd safety

Don't agree with that I doubt you would be saying that if the NL goes the same way as the EFL and we were still in the drop zone.

The lower leagues could easily cope with a suspension until the end of April. The season finishes far too early anyway and players are contracted throughout the summer. However once shutdown it would take a brave decison to resume during the projected peak of infections

Would something have to be done to replace Bury?

Pembo's tweet seems to suggest the NL is to continue.

In a way, but there will be an existential threat to clubs at our level (especially us) and although I'd expect finacial support for EFL clubs, will it filter down to our level?

They might even gain from the 'elite' fixtures being postponed in the short term.

Even if this weekends games survive, I'd expect the pressure to mount on the NL very quickly.

The national league hasn't actually made a decision yet. It'll be later today.

I'm sure you're right but don't agree with it personally, not with more than 2/3rds of the season gone.

Got to feel sorry for the knock on effect to small businesses and people that rely upon Matchday trade. The "Glassworks" opposite the ground and the pleasant young lady that has just taken it over who depend heavily on Matchday takings.

As previously stated they are contractually due holidays and about 11 will be out of contract on 30/06/20 which isn't throughout the summer. I agree the Arteta and Hudson-Odoi diagnosis is behind the decision. What other industry has shut down completely because a handful of employees have been affected. The players will be just as much at risk as anyone else going forward

Can't believe we're not off. Presumably not anyway.

Might be able to watch Staveley still tomorrow.

Got travel booked already for Woking and travel and accommodation for a Scottish footy trip at Easter ☹

Have just cancelled our digs for London (was doing the England game on the Friday, Woking on the Saturday and Cray Wanderers v Bognor Regis Town on the Sunday). Have also got digs booked for two nights for the trip to Barrow (hoping to watch Workington play on the Saturday as well as our game on the Monday), two nights in Dundee (Apr 24/25th) for the Dundee Derby and two other games, a trip to Vienna and Bologna at the end of May/start of June for Austria v England and Italy v Czech Republic games, and tickets etc. for all England's games at the Euros. So am waiting on further news/updates before possibly cancelling some/all of those! Luckily have got free cancellation on all the digs, and assume the flights to Vienna/Bologna may be cancellable given the circumstances.

As for this weekend; we'd already binned off the Dover trip (fully refundable) and are planning to watch Swanwick PR v Clay Cross Town then head to Kinsley dog races - unless those get cancelled too.

If they depend heavily on takings one day every two weeks they are in the mire
